Picture of Obstructive Sleep Apnea treated with CPAP

  • Improve PSG reports with a picture of sleep quality
  • Optimize staff efficiency
  • Maximize cost effectiveness
  • Identify sleep disordered breathing at a glance
  • Identify Complex Sleep Apnea prior to titration
  • Predict PAP treatment efficacy
  • Increase your referral base
  • Run analysis in real time during collection

What a Picture of Sleep Quality Looks Like

“The cardiopulmonary coupling (CPC) tool in Embla’s RemLogic software quickly analyzed two different PSG studies from the same patient and immediately confirmed my suspicion that the patient suffered from Complex Sleep Apnea. Using this tool allowed me to validate my suspicion within moments, as well as recommend the proper clinical therapy to my patient. I see great potential for the clinical utility of CPC.”
- Dr. B. Feldman, Medical Director, Coastal Sleep Disorders Center

Simple evaluation of SDB:

  • Normal sleep is ≥50% HFC
  • Unstable sleep is <50% HFC and an LFC/HFC ratio of >25%
  • OSA has >15% LFC
  • Complex Sleep Apnea has >2% LFC narrow band values

Identify Complex Sleep Apnea Prior to Titration:

  • Initiate appropriate therapy
  • Save time and unnecessary therapy attempts
  • Minimize number of rescheduled PSG studies
  • Increase successful therapies and compliant patients
  • Investigate reason for poor patient compliance/outcomes

Tracking CPAP Treatment Efficacy

  • Predict patient success or failure of Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) treatment with a high degree of accuracy (90.9% accuracy*)
  • Run CPC analysis on a previously recorded study to investigate why a patient may be non-compliant to PAP therapy.
  • Predict Complex Sleep Apnea prior to the application of PAP therapy.
  • Hypertension and stroke is associated with elevated Low Frequency narrow band coupling*
